Technically, the state doesn’t want you starting the course before you receive the packet. If you did, however, stop working on the course and take the following steps right away:
- Make sure you have an eligible parent instructor before ordering the PTDE packet.
- Order the PTDE packet ASAP from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
- When you receive the packet, hang on to it for three days.
- After three days, let us know by emailing us at email@example.com to update your Permit Certificate date. This is done to ensure that the date printed on your Permit Certificate is after the date you received the PTDE packet.
